Who we are:
RIEHA is a non-profit association organized for charitable and educational purposes. The goal and purpose of RIEHA is to advance the environmental health and protection professional for the purpose of providing a healthful environment for all. These environmental health areas of interest include: food safety and protection, drinking water/water quality, institutions and schools environmental health, on-site waste water treatment, sustainability, terrorism and all-hazards preparedness, solid waste, emerging pathogens and vector control and zoonotic diseases. This goal is achieved by providing training and educational programs while also providing the opportunity for members to meet and exchange ideas and information with other professionals in the field of public and environmental health.
Other benefits of membership include: RIEHA sponsored seminars for which professional development units will be awarded and eligibility for RIEHA educational scholarships and service awards. RIEHA is affiliated with the National Environmental Health Association.
Members of the RIEHA come from a wide variety of disciplines and/or businesses: educators and regulators involved with food safety and protection, nutrition and dietetics, restaurant owners and managers, foodservice directors, food processors, water quality, wastewater management/treatment and sustainability and many other fields.
